Mahatma Gandhi National Sports Mission....!

MAHATMA GANDHI NATIONAL SPORTS MISSION is a national initiative that provides school children with access to free sports and other structured physical activity programs after-school time .And to conducts Skill Development Programs for children’s , adults, couches, teachers parents and who ever needed. On the basic examination and other evaluation process.

The program aims to engage children in sports and other structured physical activities and through a positive and fun experience, develop a love of sports that inspires them to participate or to join in National Council for Sports And Youth Development Championship and Tournament.

The NCSYD manages the MGNSM nationally through a network of locally based State coordinators across the India. The coordinators assist schools and MGNSM to facilitate the program, recruitment/train community coaches and work with local sporting clubs and organisations to increase junior membership.

MGNSM STATE Coordinators coordinate the delivery of the program in schools, colleges, universities, government department and private sectors using all interested people in the community who complete registration requirements. These include, but are not excluded to: teachers, senior and tertiary students, development officers from national and state sporting organizations, local sporting club members, private providers, parents, guardians, athletes and beginner to professional coaches.

COURSE UNDER Mahatma Gandhi National Sports Mission

A. General Coaching Program

The Beginning Coaching General Principles course has been developed to help coaches improve their basic coaching skills, particularly those coaches working with children. A major bene?t of the part-time course is that coaches can complete it in their own time.

About the course

The course contains following training modules that cover a range of general coaching topics, including:

  • The role and responsibilities expected of a coach
  • Planning
  • Safety
  • Working with parents
  • Communication role in sports
  • Group management
  • Iinclusive coaching practices

The course takes approximately six hours to complete, and there is assessment included at the end of each module.

MENTOR TRANNING

NCSYD Mentor Training Program
Mentoring can be a valuable tool to help coaches and officials improve their knowledge, skills and con?dence, and help them achieve the requirements for accreditation. Suitably skilled mentors ensure that coaches and officials receive a positive mentoring experience. To assist in the training of mentors in sport, the National Council for Sports And Youth Development has developed a Mentoring Training Program.

What is the NCSYD Mentor Training Program?
The NCSYD Mentor Training Program is a one-day workshop. It aims to develop and enhance the skills of mentors working with coaches and of? cials in community through to high performance sporting environments.

Who is the program aimed at?
The program is aimed at people who are mentoring coaches and of? cials either as part of accreditation requirements for the National Coaching Accreditation Programs (NCAP) for the professional development of coaches and of?cials. It is recommended that participants are familiar with the mentoring structure and the role of a mentor within their sport before attending the workshop.

What is covered in the program?
The program covers the interpersonal skills required for mentors, and the planning and processes of mentoring. It contains a number of practical activities to practise mentoring skills. On completion of the workshop, mentors should be able to plan and organise the mentoring relationship and assist mentees to develop and improve. How to Enroll.
